“Music, such music, is a sufficient gift. Why ask for happiness; why hope not to grieve? It is enough, it is to be blessed enough, to live from day to day and to hear such music-not too much, or the soul could not sustain it-from time to time.” ― Vikram Seth, An Equal Music

Some Gregorian chant...

I am a student of Prepolyphony at the Conservatory in Turin under M. Fulvio Rampi.

With Aurelio Carlucci, I have developed some new fonts to write Old Roman and Beneventan plainchant in square notation. We have also implemented those in one of the current software which is regularly used to write Gregorian chant and Medieval plainchant in general. The repository is called OldRomanNeumes/Iohannes, and can be found on GitHub: here is our WEBSITE!

I co-manage a Gregorian chant-related BLOG with Luca Buzzavi, go take a look if you want to read some of my posts (in Italian).

Some choral activities...

Recently, I co-funded the Jubilus Ensemble - Roma, a vocal ensemble with a wide repertory of sacred and otherwise monody and polyphony. We range from medieval plainchant to the music of contemporary authors (including our very own conductor, M. Roberto Zangari). Links to our Facebook and Instagram pages:

I currently also sing in Compagnia Virtuosa, under M. Chiara Leonzi. It is a vocal ensemble based in Abruzzo, Italy, which specializes in early music. Here is a link to our Facebook page:

When I lived in Rome, I was also a member of the vocal ensemble Vocalia Consort, under M. Marco Berrini.
